It’s shaping up to be an absolutely gorgeous August, as we transition into a Colorado Fall with fantastic weather, finally cooling off from the heat waves we saw earlier in the Summer. That means it’s a great time to get out and experience the Denver area, with your own personal chauffeur in a luxury town car, with Denver Airport Transportation services! In the Arts
The arts scene in Denver is popping this late August. The Denver Art Museum has several interesting exhibitions, including a modern take on landscape photography called New Territory, a historical display of animals in art through history called Stampede, a fascinating combination of 2D and 3D art called Past the Tangled Present, and the American Indian inspired Eyes On. Some others around town include a contemporary art exhibit called Pirate in Lakewood, which opens August 24th, and a solo exhibition of the works of Italian painter Bruno D’Anna, at Bitworks.
In theater, the Broadway musical Waistwatchers is coming to town, and as well as many other Denver theater events you can check out here.
In Music
A Jam Supreme will be a primary destination for Jazz lovers this August 21st at Dazzle, and Rod Stewart will play with Cyndi Lauper at Pepsi Center, as well as Ziggy Marley at Chataqua Auditorium on the 22nd. On the 24th, Dave Matthews Band will be at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater in Greenwood Village, and ABBA will be at Levitt Pavilion. Of course, Red Rocks will have a stellar lineup for the end of August, as usual, with Rodrigo y Gabriela on the 21st, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats on the 22-23rd, and David Byrne on the 27-28th.
In Sports
In sports, the Colorado Rockies will be playing the San Diego Padres at Coor’s Field Aug. 21-23rd, and then will play the St. Louis Cardinals on the 24-26th. The Denver Barbarians rugby team will also be hosting a rugby tournament, and there will be several other smaller Denver sporting events you can find here.
